Houston Zoo presents Feasts with Beasts with friend, Lorraine Martinez

In May 2025, I had the pleasure of attending the Houston Zoo’s beloved adults‑only foodie fundraiser, Feast with the Beasts, with my friend Lorraine Martinez. Hosted on Friday, May 2, at the scenic Hermann Park zoo grounds, the event featured gourmet samplings from Houston’s top restaurants, lively music performances, and unique after‑hours animal encounters—all in support of wildlife conservation and the care of over 6,000 zoo residents. As we wandered between booths, delighting in bites and beverages, it was impossible not to feel connected to the mission behind the evening: nurturing both our vibrant Houston food scene and the zoo’s essential care efforts. It’s an unforgettable way to spend an evening—mixing culinary discovery, great company, and meaningful purpose all in one wild night.
